Hello, My name is Padraic O'Neill Stimpson. My friends call me Paddy.
I was diagnosed with diabetes on Mother's Day 1998. Needless to say this was not how my mom planned on spending her Mother's Day, in Yale New Haven Hospital with me. Oh, by the way, I live in Madison Connecticut just east of New Haven Connecticut.
After about one year of insulin injection treatments, I thought that I would like to have an insulin pump. My mom and dad left this decision up to me. So since February I've been using the pump which has made my life and my family's much easier. Some of the things I like to do are play soccer and baseball. Also since we live near the beach I spend a lot of time in the summer sailing with my brother Seamus.
I'm a Boston Red Sox fan (much to the discontent of my dad, who's a Yankees fan) and a BIG supporter of the Chelsea Football (soccer) Club in London England. I am also active in the Cub Scouts and next year I'll be a Webelos Scout.
This past January I helped my mom, dad and brother raise over $4,000 for the American Diabetes Association. This was to sponsor my mom in the Bermuda Marathon which she ran. We travelled to Bermuda and had a great time.
My dad also made me my own website so please pay it a visit: http://home.att.net/~padraic.stimpson.
Bye and best wishes to everyone!
