Back to Kids' Voices Emily Favre
Hi! My name is Emily Favre and I am 6 1/2 years old. I was diagnosed three days after my sixth birthday in November, 1998. I don't like taking 2 shots a day. Sometimes my shots burn. I do like having three snacks a day, especially because I get to eat in my classroom. I like when my blood sugars are normal because I feel great!

My sister, Elizabeth, is 2 years old and she does not have Diabetes. She gets to eat cookies with sugar and I don't. I do have lots of wonderful snacks and candy that do not have sugar and taste sweet. I have a black cat named Jewel. I gave her that name because she has shiny, yellow eyes. She was only 3 three months old when I got her.

I like to play T-Ball and Soccer. I take Dance lessons, too. I feel great when I exercise.

I hope that there is a cure for all of us soon!

I would like to hear from other children with Diabetes, so please e-mail me at ffavre@eatel.net.

Take care!

  Emily
