My name is Sion Dunley and I live in Llanelli, South Wales, UK. I am eight years old. I was diagnosed with diabetes on Halloween night in 1998. Although my mum, Janet, is also type 1 diabetic my parents were totally stunned to discover I was also diabetic. My diabetic nurse is Janet Thomas and my doctor is Doctor Saxena at Glan Gwili Hospital in Carmarthen. I do my own tests and jabs but was a bit used to seeing my mum do them, so it wasn't too difficult to start. We have loads of animals including my own puppy, Ben, two goats, Luke, a poodle, BJ, an Alsation and 5 cats. I like playing on my Playstation and computer, and also play football and ride my BMX a lot. I also play Baritone in Llanelli Youth Brass Band and am interested in cars (real and toy!).
I would like to hear from other diabetic kids who get fed up with doing tests and injections.
My Dad's web page is on www.dunley.freeserve.co.uk; there are pictures of me and some of our animals there.
Sion and his family receive e-mail at Gareth@dunley.freeserve.co.uk.
