Hi, I'm Cari. I'm 7, and I just got my pump! YES! I'm happy, my parent's are happy, my whole family is happy. I was diagnosed three years ago during the last month of headstart. It has been a struggle, I've never like my shots. The shot process got a little better when we started using insulin pens 2 months ago, but for 3 years my blood glucose levels have never been in an acceptable range. I'd been taking 4 shots a day and only 60g Carbs. per meal. My doctor just prescribed before Christmas a pump for me. We're still making changes to my basal rates, but things are going GREAT. I still don't like being stuck, but I'll take one every 3 days over 4 times a day any time.
This is my brother, Jacob, and I. Daddy needed models for his new digital camera. We were more than happy to pose. He's 5 and in Kindergarten, I'm in the 2nd grade. We live in Alabama. I have a 504 Aide at school she takes real good care of me, I thinks she's the best lady in the whole world (she's my Mom! :).
I like Barbie, dolls, singing, eating (I grab stuff of Mom's plate when she's not looking) and playing with my brother's Legos.
Cari and her family receive e-mail at mailcari@yahoo.com.
