Hello there, all you diabetics!
My name is Lana Hall. I will be thirteen years old (Goody!) in February 2001.
I was four years old when I was diagnosed with this yucky disease, and of course I was showing all the signs of it. Gulping down apple juice and then rushing off to the bathroom, losing lots of weight, etc.
I have type 1 diabetes, so I have to take three or four insulin injections a day, as well as five or six finger pokes. I use an "Advantage" glucometer, because it's small and easy to use. The finger poker it came with, literally poked holes through my finger, so instead I use a "Softclix II select" poker.
Yes, yes people, diabetes is very annoying but you mustn't let it get the better of you!
Despite my extreme unluckiness of having diabetes, I have jumped horses for four years, I play sports (especially basketball and volleyball), love to shop, play on the web, read and write, design and sew clothes (I plan to be a fashion designer when I graduate), act and sing. I have a fluffy lap dog named Wiggins (in the picture), and three Japanese Koi fish.
If you think you'd like a pen pal from B.C. Canada, my email address is Sports.girl@home.com.
See you later!
