Hi! My name is Zhenya (boy). I live in Vitebsk, Belarus. I am nine. I was diagnosed with diabetes on October 24, 1998. I wanted to drink and I had frequent urination for a few days. I was going to school when I felt weekness and sickness and I could not go. My parients drove me to the children's hospital. There we learned that I have diabetes. It was very terrible, but in hospital there were a few children with diabetes. We got acquainted with one another and became friends. More than 50 children have diabetes in our town. Now I am used to my diabetes and don't think too much about it. I do my blood test and take my insulin injections (2-in moning and 2-in evening and sometimes at dinner if my sugar is high). I have little sister called Polina. She's six. I like to play football, to swim and play with my friends. At shcool I study English. Our family got Internet not too along ago and first things my mother did was search for "diabetes" and then she found this page and helped me to write this letter.
