ELIZA IS GOING TO WASHINGTON!
Hi. Eliza Jayne here. I'm almost 5 now and into everything. I love school and I've made lots of friends. Everyone is really great about my diabetes. We've been studying "Healthy Foods" this past month . . . which I know all about!! School is lots of fun.
I also got two great announcements the first week in the year 2001. First, I'm getting my pump! I can't wait. No more shots four times a day!!
And second -- and the best news ever -- I'm going to Washington!! I will be a representative of Pennsylvania at the Children's Congress "Promise to Remember Me" campaign! My mommy is very excited . . . and so am I.
Some people say that one person can't make a difference, but I don't believe that. I promise to try my best to make a difference while I am there. For all the CHILDREN WITH DIABETES! We will fight to get more funds. We will fight to make everyone understand how hard it is to live with diabetes. We will fight to find a cure!
I hope to chat with some of the other candidates that are going to Washington. If you want to talk, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
An Angel On My Shoulder
There's an Angel on my shoulder
Always Angels near
They watch over me each minute
Through my happiness and tears
Every day I get my shots
And do my finger tests
Through the ouches and the pinches
I try to do my best
I raised some money for JDF
Wrote letters to all my friends
I check my mailbox every day
The giving never ends
To all the Angels who donated . . .
From my heart I know for sure
This money will fund the research
To help us find a cure
