  Back to Kids' Voices Dalton

Photo My name is Dalton. I am 11 1/2 and was diagnosed in May 2000. I live in Washington (state). Diabetes has been very frustrating for me. I don't like doing finger pokes or shots at all. But I do them and I do them myself. It is important for my health and it is important to learn to take care of your diabetes yourself.

I love to go fishing and love playing with my friends. I do not let my diabetes stop me from doing the things I want to do. I am going to diabetes camp this summer for the first time. I am very nervous about meeting new people and being away from home. I want to know if there is anyone else that is going to Gales Creek Camp in Oregon this summer.

I was born in June of 1989. Remember, kids with diabetes are still kids! Check your blood sugar and check it often!

Dalton and his family receive e-mail at shero@kalama.com.
