Hiya! My name is Lucy Morris and I live in England, in Lincolnshire. I'm 14. I was diagnosed in November 1999. First of all, I lost lots of weight, and then my eyesight went bad, and I was having trouble seeing. I went to the opticians and they refferred me to a eye specialist. He diagnosed me as having cataracts, which meant having to have a operation on my eyes, and then later on, having laser treatment. I then got referred again to a paediactric doctor, and he was the one who comfireded me having diabetes. I was then sent to Boston Hospital. I don't think diabetes is the worst thing in life. My control is really good, and I am going on the diabetes trip, to Aviemore, and if anyone is going, then e mail me! I am on two insulin injections a day. Sometimes I think that sometimes I really can't be bothered to do my injections, and then I think, well, it's keeping me alive, so I'd rather have a little prick than lose my life!
