Hi, my name is Traci. I live in Mt. Sinai, New York. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes February 19, 2002. My mom had said she thought I lost a lot of weight and was eating and drinking a lot more often. When I went to the doctor's office, they weighed me and I had lost ten pounds! My mom asked the doctor if the symptoms I had were symptoms of diabetes. Then they did urine test and said I had diabetes. My glucose was way in the 300s. So they brought me to the hospital and I stayed there for four days. I now can do the finger-pricks by myself. I can't do the insulin shots yet though. Hi! its been a long time since I last updated my page. I now have my Deltec Cozmo pump for two years. I haven't gotten many e-mails from diabetics lately, but I did recently recieve one. I have made many friends through this website. I really would love to recieve e-mails too. I just moved from Mt. Sinai to Henderson, Nevada, so I am no longer in New York. One of the funny things is, is that there is a diabetic in a few of my classes who has the same exact pump as me! You can e-mail me at Tracemonster [at] aol.com.
