Hi my name is Deanna. I'm six years old and I live in New York. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes on June 12, 2002 at the Children's Hospital in Albany, New York. My doctor said that they were glad to find it early. I just graduated Kindergarten on the 14.
I have to take 1 shot in the morning and 4 pokes. I don't mind the finger pokes but I don't like the shot. My mom gives the shot to me and my daddy fixes the needle. They say that I'm doing good and to watch what I eat. Now that I just was diagnosed I have to learn a lot about our disease. I would love to hear from anyone that shares the same Type.
