My name is Cacey. I am 11 years old. I live in Indiana right now but we are in the middle of moving to Kentucky. I have a younger brother and two older half sisters.
I was diagnosed with diabetes on January 4, 2002. It was very scary that day and night. I was so dehydrated that the nurses and doctors could not draw my blood. They tried all night and never got a drop of blood. Then they put an IV in and gave me fluids. Then a few hours later they got blood.
I spent five days in the hospital altogether. My family stayed with me the whole time. Boy let me tell you, I had no idea of all the stuff they thought us. I'm telling you, no dumb kid has diabetes.
I would like to talk to you and get to know other kids with the same thing as I have. So please e-mail me at princesscaceym[@]aol.com.
