Hi! My name is Erin Wilson. I was diagnosed with diabetes September 5, 2002. How I found out I had it was because over the summer I was drinking a lot of water so I had to go to the bathroom a lot. And then my mom took me to the doctor and I did a blood test and it was 600.
At first when I got it I was really scared because I had to spend five days stuck in a hospital. But now I am used to taking shots and doing my finger pricks. I have to prick my finger 4 times a day and I get a shot 2 times a day.
For all those people who have been newly diagnosed I just want to tell you not to worry and that use you will always have me too talk to if you have any questions. You can e-mail me at
