My name is Laura. I am 11 years old and I got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes October, 2002. I've never met anyone with diabetes. I was acting really gloomy. I was going to a regular check up at the doctor. My mom told him I wasn't acting myself. We went to get my blood tested, I was crying hard. The test showed positive. Before I never knew what diabetes was, now I know a lot! Sometimes people treat me differently. It makes me feel terrible. With all my heart I believe there will be a cure someday.
