Back to Kids' Voices Kerry Anne

Three-year-old Kerry Anne was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on January 3, 2002 at the age of 21 months. Kerry has learned to adapt quite well to her regimen of blood sugar checks and insulin shots. She can insert a test strip in her monitor and can almost poke herself now with a lancet. She tells us I would like a soft shot and some times says you can give it to me in my arm. She gives her dolls pretend shots. She is beginning to recognize when she is having lows or when her sugar is too high she will let you know by asking for a glass of crystal light. She is a very special little girl and we are very proud of her.

Kerry Anne's parents receive e-mail at McCawleyJ1956[@]aol.com.
