  Back to Kids' Voices Morgan

My name is Morgan. I am a 10 year old girl with diabetes since January 19, 2004. I take 3 shots a day and test 5 times a day if I don't feel low and have to do another test. I am in 5th grade. There are three other kids in my school have diabetes. Emily and Kevin. I want to get into running for a cure and things like that. My favorite things to do are play soccer and lacrosse. My least favorite thing to do is go to school.

I have a dog named Max and a brother named Billy. My parents and my Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles all support me and help me along the way. Even my friends give me encouragement.

When I go outside to play with my friends, I forget that I even have diabetes. I feel like a regular kid. But I kept telling myself that but then I realized, I am a regular kid. Some people have diseases. Some people have loss of family members. It could even go to not having enough money, but everyone has problems in their life.

There are books you could read about this and clubs you could join. Being a diabetic is not bad at all. Barely.

If you would like to e-mail me then do so at noreendecker[@]comcast.net.
