My name Is Brandon. I was diagnosed with diabetes in November of 2004. My mom thought I had the flu. She rushed me to the emergency room where they discovered I had diabetes. My sugar level was 577 mg/dl [32 mmol/L]. They sent us (in a hurry) to a hospital that had specialists. After about an hour after we got to the main hospital, they sent me to the peds ICU for 24 hours. It was very scary. But after only three days I was able to go home. I am angry that I have diabetes. Nobody I know that's my age has it, so I feel very alone. I feel like all the hurting stuff happens to me in my family. I am nine years old. I have one sister, three cats, and four dogs.
