My name is Ruby and I was diagnosed with diabetes just before I turned four years old in August 2004. I am the only person in my school who has diabetes. I like being at school, but I hope my doctors find a cure for diabetes for my whole family. (Mom has type 1 and dad has type 2.) I am on the pump, but sometimes I thinks that shots are better. The infusion set scares me when mommy and daddy put it on. My blood sugars are good with the pump though. I live in Texas and I can't wait to go to Elementary School and bein Kindergarten.
