  Back to Kid' Voices Marisa

Hey! My name is Marisa and I'm 13 years old. I have had diabetes since March of 2007, which is nine months. I am now using my insulin pump and I really like it.

I also have a sister who has diabetes and her name is Mallory and she is 17 years old. She has had diabetes for 14 years. She was on the pump for a while, but then something went wrong with it (which was like a LONG time ago) She won't go back on it.

My doctor said I am handling my diabetes way better than my sister and she said the my sister should look down to me. I'm the "POSTER CHILD" she said.

Well overall diabetes isn't that bad. I mean all you have to do is check your sugar and take your insulin and your good. Sometimes I feel like I don't belong because I'm diabetic, but my sis is there to help.

Well I am in the 7th grade. I love to hang out with my friends and especially go shopping. I love to eat tacos and play DDR with my one friend which is really good at it. I also love to listen to music, like country, rap, and hip-hop.

So anyways I would really like to have a penpal like you. I have met a few friends on this site and on the JDRF website. You should check it out! Well I hope you get the hint that I would like penpals. So email me at ThinkTink1194 AT wmconnect.com. Hope 2 hear from you
