Hello my name is Charlotte I am 8 and I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just before I was 7 in March 2006. I live in the U.K. I am on 4 times a day insulin shots but have been recently looking into having a pump. I have been doing my own injections since I was diagnosed and mum and dad think I am the bravest girl they know! Sometimes I get fed up and angry at having diabetes and I do ask my mum "why me?" I hope they find a cure one day. I am the only one in my junior school with diabetes but it doesn't stop me doing anything I still do lots of sports and dancing and trampolining and have lots of fun! My favourite foods are pizza, bbq chicken, pasta, bagels, bacon, roast potatoes and chocolate cake!
