Hi. My name is Christian. I am 12 years old. I live in Arkansas. I am in 7th grade. I have had diabetes since February 28, 2005. I get 3 shots a day and check my blood sugar up to 10 times a day. At diagnosis I was very sick for a few weeks. Everyone thought I had a bad case of the flu. I lost 10 ponds in one week. My sugar was over 1600 when they finally diagnosed me. I stayed at Lebonhuer Childrens Hospital in Memphis for a week. They trained my mom and step dad and my dad on how to give shots and check sugar and carb counting. I do not let diabetes stop me from doing anything. I enjoy playing video games, playing on the computer and listing to my ipod or radio. I like watching TV and playing outside with my friends.
