Hi, my name is Taylor. I live in Idaho with all of my closest family. In fact, my grandparents live right next door to us. Which I have always loved. They have an Arabian Horse ranch which is really cool if you are in to horses. My Grandpa has 40 horses out here, he has all of the different colors and ages you could think of. My mom and I have two horses on the same ranch, one is a Quarter Horse named Seven, and and one is a Mustang named Sonny. Sonny used to be my 4H horse. Besides the horses I like stamping, scrapbooking, photography, playing the Playstation and games on the computer. Guitar Hero is a fav too!
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 9 years old. Now I am almost 14. We found out so quickly that the doctors did not know if I was type 1 or type 2. They had me on Metformin the pill for a while, and then it quickly turned in to shots of Lantus and Humalog, sometimes 10 shots a day. So with in the first year my doctor gave me a choice. He said with doing that many shots a day I could get on the pump if I wanted to. I chose yes! We have had the Deltec Cozmo pump and now 4 years later I have a Medtronic Minimed 722. Not sure which I would recommend to others. They both have some of the same features, and then one has something I like that the other doesn't have :(
I homeschool now at K12. It is an online public/charter school. Maybe some of you go to K12 too and already know what I am talking about. I tried regular school for the first two years but none of the teachers or nurses knew how to help me with shots or the pump so we started home school.
I would love to chat, and make some friends with diabetes! My email address is
totallytayz AT yahoo.com.
Thanks for reading my story and hope to hear from you soon!
