My name is Kelsey and I am 16 years old living in Oklahoma. I have had diabetes for 14 years and I don't remember life without it. I would love to meet some other people with diabetes from around the world.
I was diagnosed October 1993 at the age of 2. I don't know if it's true or not, but I have been told that when I was diagnosed I was the youngest child on record to get diabetes. I know that's not true today.
In 2002, I started a Mini-Med pump and I like the freedom it gives me. I hope that one day we will finally have a cure!
I'm a Junior in High School and am very excited about becoming a Senior. I like to be on the computer, watch my favorite football team- the Green Bay Packers, watch movies (especially Hairspray, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Enchanted), and do things with my friends.
My words of advice for people with diabetes is: Stay Positive and Dream Big -- don't let something manageable hold you back from doing what you want!
