Hi, My name is Sara. I was diagnosed with Diabetes on January 16, 2006 when I was 5 years old. Now I have Diabetes like my older brother John. My Mommy and Daddy suspected I had Diabetes because I got very tired and starting going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Now, I have a pump and a continuous glucose monitor to make sure I am safe. I love all sports: soccer, basketball, tennis, and softball. I love school and I try to not let Diabetes slow me down! My mom and Dad had to take me to the emergency room once because I got so low that I couldn't talk for 4 hours. They were real scared! We need a cure.
