My son Tristan is 7 years old. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes July 25, 2009. When we got to the ER his blood sugar was 1424! He went down hill very quickly at home and showed very few symptoms until a couple days before we took him in. He was in the ICU for four days. He feels much better physically but emotionally he still struggles daily. He is trying to cope with this every day and some days are good and some are not good. He is interested in meeting other children with diabetes so he can no longer feel alone in his daily struggles. I look forward to hearing from other families.
