I am Lucy I am 9 years old from England and I found out I have diabetes a few weeks ago. My parents took me for a blood test as I wasn't putting on any weight and I was getting up in the night to go a toilet a lot. I am coping ok, I had a few blood tests in the hospital when I first found out and am due for another one in a couple of months but am scared to have it done (yikes). I have an allergy to kittens and cats but I still care for them, dogs are my favourite animals, I am hoping to get a dog one day. My school has been very supportive I was scared to go back but found I had nothing to worry about. My Auntie has type 1 diabetes to and she has had it since she was 16 and is now 34 and is doing really well, I have been able to learn a lot from her.
