Hi, My name is Briar. I went to the doctor's office for a check up and they sent me to a big hospital right away. They said I have juvenile diabetes type 1. My family all came down with me. We had to stay there for three days learning about my diabetes. I have to have shots before every meal and also I have to have one at night time. I test my own blood glucose, but my family reads the insulin road map for me. I will have to learn this as well.
It's nice to know that I'm not alone and that other kids my age also have this and know what it feels like. I like to snowboard and am very good at it. I also like playing Wii games with my Bumpa. He is my grandfather. If anyone wants to talk, just send my Nokie an email, she is my grandmother.
I wish they had better free foods for us to eat. Maybe someone will invent that.
You can email my Nokie at .
