- Founded by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research worldwide. Since inception, the Foundation has provided more than $900 million to diabetes research worldwide. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education. JDRF's mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
- JDRF publishes the research quarterly Countdown, as well as "Research Frontline" and a "Life with Diabetes" e-newsletter.
- JDRF sponsors annual fundraising walks.
- The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada represents parents in Canada in the quest for a cure.
