  193. In a major announcement last week, the American Diabetes Assocation released guidelines for identifying pre-diabetes, a term intended to describe people who have blood sugar readings above normal but not yet high enough to diagnose type 2 diabetes. (Pre-diabetes is not applicable to people who have type 1 diabetes.)
