The Importance of Camp

Dillon is 6 years old and has had diabetes for almost two years now. He had his first experience at a camp for kids living with diabetes this past summer. Dillon attended Camp RedBird in St. Louis, Missouri. It amazed me how much Dillon learned in just 4 short days. He learned what sorts of snacks he should eat, when he should eat them, and most amazingly, he learned to give himself an injection! Camp RedBird was a wonderful experience for Dillon and I would recommend it to any family that is dealing with this disease!
