Class of 2003 My name is Brandi Young and I am 18 years old. I graduated from high school in May of 2003. I am now attending college where I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. I have had diabetes since the age of 11. As it is hard growing up, it is even more difficult growing up with Diabetes. I had outrageous blood sugars, and was on more insulin than I ever thought imaginable. But until I read about the insulin pump. I had to talk it over with my endocronoligist, and before I knew it, I was on the Minimed 508 insulin pump. My life has completely turned around. I have been on the insulin pump for about a month now, and it is amazing how much different my life is. My diabetes Educator said that she had never seen anything like it. My blood sugars were better the first day that I had the pump. I kept decreasing my insulin, where now I am on very little amounts. I love the pump.
