photo   The Baldwin family

We are the Baldwin family, and live in West Sussex. Steven is now 14 and was diagnosed at the age of 10 in 2003. He has an older sister, Vanessa (pictured with him aged 17), and lives with mum Alison and dad John. He started using an insulin pump in June 2006. He is passionate about football, and an avid supporter of Newcastle United FC, and he also loves rock music and going to gigs. Steven doesn't let diabetes stop him from living life to the full, and we are very proud of him.

The Bray family

This is Georgia Bray aged 8 with her brother Dillon aged 4. Georgia was diagnosed wth Diabetes in May 2004. She already had Coeliac so the dietary change was not as big as what some people have to go through. The hardest bit was the needle phobia that Georgia had, she had to be put on a room of her own when she was diagnosed because she screamed that much during the time were we were shown how to give her injections. She has come a long way since then and is now injecting herself in the places she can reach.

Our children have to deal with so much we don't give them the praise they deserve sometimes. I am so proud of the way she has dealt with it.

Donna Bray
Mum to Georgia, aged 8, diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in May 2004 and Ceoliac in August 2002, and four-year-old Dillon

The Bruce family

This is Jamie, aged 4 1/2 years old, and also pictured with little brother Ross, now 2 years old. Jamie was diagnosed on his second birthday, and although it was a tough time, Jamie has never let his diabetes stop him. His pet name is Tigger, as he never stops bouncing around, and he is constantly on the go! He's a mischievous little rascal, but we wouldn't have him any other way!
