What do you think is the hardest part of diabetes?
Poll dates: February 7 - 14, 1999
Total Votes: 700Diabetes affects every aspect of life. Meals must be carefully planned and carbohydrates measured. Blood tests and insulin injections intrude into the spontaneity of everyday life. Friends and family members may treat you differently. Anxiety about long-term complications and the demands of daily care can cause depression. All of these feelings are common to people with diabetes and their families. It's important to know that you're not alone, and that there are resources that can help.
In the chat rooms at Children with Diabetes, you'll find parents, teens, and adults, eager to share their experiences. If you don't have time to chat, try the Message Board. You'll also find that your local office of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, American Diabetes Association, or other diabetes organization can help.
