Total Votes: 592People with diabetes are at risk for developing diabetic retinopathy. A diabetes care plan that helps keep blood sugars as close to normal as possible can help reduce the risk of developing retinopathy. Yearly eye examinations are recommended for children 12 or older who have had diabetes for at least five years.
