Who helps you adjust the insulin regimen for yourself or your child?

Poll dates: July 11 - 18, 1999
Total Votes: 584

Diabetes is unique among chronic diseases in that the greatest burden of care falls on the patient, rather than the health care team. As a result, people with diabetes -- or parents of children with diabetes -- become quite expert in their own diabetes care, and diabetes teams that believe in patient empowerment are the norm. As a result, people are more comfortable taking responsibility for their own care, which is reflected in the results of this poll.
