After you do a blood test, how do you stop your finger from bleeding? Poll dates: August 8 - 15, 1999 Total Votes: 723 Many parents use small "spot" bandages to cover finger sticks in children with diabetes. Adults and older kids, however, aren't usually interested in having bandages on their fingers. One-third of our respondents report using a cotton ball or gauze to absorb the blood from a blood test. Others press or suck on their finger to stop the bleeding. However you do it, the important thing is to test your blood sugar. [Return to the current poll]
