Thankfully, the Year 2000 Computer Problem proved to have been solved by companies and countries around the world. For some people with diabetes, however, the uncertainty of a potential problem caused anxiety. About half of the people who responded to our poll reported stockpiling some extra supplies, though most had a month or less extra. About half did nothing.
It's a good idea to keep a month or so of diabetes supplies on hand at all times. Extra supplies come in handy during winter storms that knock out power and strand you at home, or during summer hurricanes and other extreme weather.
