If you use a pump or want to, who initially suggested that you use the pump? Poll dates: February 13 - 20, 2000 Total Votes: 445 Of pump users responding to our poll, the diabetes team suggested pump therapy for only one of five patients. With recent studies showing the advantage of insulin pump therapy in adolescents, many parents, kids, and adults are interested in exploring a pump and are taking the lead by bringing it up first with their diabetes team. Modern diabetes care involves the support of a multi-discipline diabetes team, with the patient at the center. Patients should feel comfortable advocating for their own care and asking their diabetes team about the therapy that they feel will best suit their needs. [Return to the current poll]
