Total Votes: 896HbA1c provides a measure of overall blood sugar control during the previous 60 to 90 days. It is the HbA1c value, rather than individual blood glucose measurements, that provides the best assessment about one's risk of complications. The higher the HbA1c, the higher the risk.
The American Diabetes Association recommends that everyone with diabetes have an HbA1c measurement done every three months.
