What is the biggest challenge you have with your diabetes care team?
Poll dates: November 18 - 25, 2001
Total Votes: 743A good diabetes team can really make a difference in the quality of care you receive. In this poll, we hoped to learn what concerns our readers had with their diabetes teams. While about 40% are happy with their diabetes team, 60% are not, and the largest complaint -- 42% -- was that the diabetes team didn't keep up with the latest care or research.
Keeping up with diabetes research and care practices is a daunting task, even for health care professionals. There are dozens of professional journals in which new research is published, and many conferences each year in which research is reported. For health care teams that are overloaded with both patients and paperwork problems, finding time to keep up can be a real challenge.
You can help assure your diabetes team stays up to date. If you read about a care practice or research effort that interests you, you should share it with your diabetes team. There's nothing wrong with printing out copies of reports or research abstracts and sending them to your team.
