Have you ever changed diabetes teams?Poll dates: December 2 - 9, 2001
Total Votes: 440
In the two-and-a-half years since we last ran this poll, the number of people reporting being satisfied with their diabetes team has dropped from 60% to 50%, and the number of people reporting changing diabetes teams has jumped from 20% to 28%. If you are happy with the care provided by your team, that's great. But if you're not, it's important for you to know that you can change diabetes teams.
If you're thinking about looking for a new diabetes team, use the Standards of Clinical Care as a basis for discussion. Ask about their thoughts on using the new insulins (Humalog, NovoLog, and Lantus), and their thoughts about pump use. And be sure that the members of the team listen to you and your concerns.
If you're moving and need to find a new team, see Finding a New Diabetes Doctor.
