What lancets do you or your child use?

Poll dates: April 28 - May 5, 2002
Total Votes: 771

Over the past several years, makers of lancets and lancing devices have made great strides in developing thinner lancets and adjustable lancing devices, all designed to make finger stick blood testing as easy and painless as possible. There are now lancing tools suitable for testing the tiny fingers of infants as well as the roughened skin of adults who work with their hands a lot.

BD Ultra Fine lancets remain the number on lancet by far among our readers. The table below shows the results of this poll over the past three years:

Lancet April 2002 August 2000 August 1999
BD Ultra Fine 47% 47% 47%
Cleanlet 1% 1% 1%
LifeScan 6% 5% 4%
Monolet 2% 3% 4%
Softclix 21% 28% 27%
Soft Touch 6% 7% 8%
Store Brand 2% 2% 2%
TheraSense 6%
Other or Don't Know 6% 3% 3%
