Have you considered switching to Lantus (insulin glargine)? Poll dates: October 6 - 13, 2002 Total Votes: 631 Lantus® (insulin glargine) is a new, very long acting insulin. It has a remarkably flat action profile that lasts 24 hours, making it an excellent basal insulin. Of injection users who know about Lantus, over 60% have already switched their basal insulin to Lantus, and another 16% are considering it. Interest among pump users is considerably less, with 96% of pump users planning to stick with insulin pump therapy. Only 14% of people who responded were unfamiliar with Lantus. The table below summarizes the responses based on insulin regimen. Insulin analogs like Lantus, Humalog, and NovoLog offer new choices for people with diabetes who use insulin. Plus, there are even more new insulins on the horizon.
