For insulin pump users, how often do you usually change your infusion set?
Poll dates: July 25 - August 1, 2004
Total Votes: 438Insulin pump users must change their infusion sets periodically to prevent infection and the build up of scar tissue at the infusion site. Almost 60% of our readers report changing their sets every three days, a little more than last year (58% versus 54%). One in five report changing their set every two days.
Changing your infusion set more often reduces the risk of scar tissue build up, but also costs more money.
