Poll dates: March 11 - 18, 2007 Total Votes: 454 Pump users often wonder about how many different basal rates they need during the day to maintain optimum blood sugar control. Different diabetes teams offer different advice, and there seems to be no real consensus. So we asked our readers what they actually use. About 42% of our readers who use insulin pumps report using four or fewer basal rates in their main basal profile. A small number -- 10% -- report using seven or more basal rates.
