If you use an insulin pump, what infusion set do you use?
Poll dates: March 18 - 25, 2007
Total Votes: 486Insulin pump users have quite a few infusion sets available to choose from. The most popular is the Quick-set, followed by the Silhouette/Comfort/Tender and then the new Inset.
All insulin pumps except the Medtronic MiniMed Paradigm have a standard connector for the infusion set and can therefore use any infusion set, regardless of who makes it. The Paradigm has a unique connector and can take only infusion sets specially made for it. Infusion sets also come in varying depths to accommodate different skin types and some have different tubing lengths.
If you've always used the same infusion set, or were unaware of the other infusion sets, you might want to talk with your diabetes team about the various infusion sets that are now available.
For more information, see our section about Infusion Sets.
