Do you have your most recent basal rates, insulin-to-carb ratios, and correction factors written down?
Poll dates: June 24 - July 1, 2007
Total Votes: 320If you're an insulin pump user and have had a pump fail, you know how frustrating it can be to re-enter your basal rates, insulin-to-carb ratios, and correction factors if you don't have the most current settings written down or saved on your computer. The same can apply to injection users who have to train someone else to provide care, such as a grandparent or teacher.
As part of your Diabetes Emergency Kit, you should keep a paper list of this important data, along with emergency contact information for friends, family, and your diabetes team. If you're unsure of these values, talk with your diabetes team.
The results of this poll are almost identical to the same poll we ran last year.
