Does your diabetes team charge you to fill out forms for school or driver's licenses?
Poll dates: October 7 - 14, 2007
Total Votes: 365Many pediatric endocrinologists are under enormous financial pressure. They are faced with increasing patient loads and decreasing reimbursements. Faced with this financial pressure, there is a shortage of pediatric endocrinologists in the US.
We have heard of some practices that charge patients for filling out paperwork such as school forms and driver's license documentation, so we thought we'd ask our readers about their experiences. Based on this poll, a small number -- 4% -- routinely charge for this work. Many readers don't know, perhaps because they have not yet had to ask for this service. The results of this poll are very similar to the previous results from 2006.
