Have you or your family ever been denied health insurance coverage because of diabetes?
Poll dates: October 10 - 17, 2012
Total Votes: 70
In the United States, prior to the passing of the Affordable Care Act, people with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes could be denied health insurance. That is no longer the case, but it was the case for almost one in four of those who responded to this poll. Nationally, a study published in early 2012 found that two million adults with diabetes under the age of 65 lacked health insurance. (No data was presented on the type of diabetes.)
