- Give drinks containing sugar (not Light) in small and frequent portions (several sips every 10-15 min.)
- Sweet ice cream or yoghurt may work well
- Never miss a chance to give something
containing sugar!
Gastroenteritis
- Keep records of how much the child has had to drink
- Begin with solid foods as soon as the vomiting stops or decreases
- Mini-doses of glucagon work well when everything else fails
< 2 years: 2 “units” in a U-100 syringe
> 2 years: 1 “unit”/year up to 15 “units” (0.15 mg)
Repeat after 1 hour or more if needed
